The 29th Annual YWCA Salute to Women of Achievementwas held June 16, 2011 at Indiana Roof Ballroom. Miles Printing, a woman-owned business entity (WBE), was pleased to help sponsor this phenomenal and moving event.

The Salute to Women of Achievement event featured a silent auction, dinner, awards presentation and inspirational stories from YWCA participants and Salute awardees. The Honorary Chair for the event was pioneering news journalist, Barbara Boyd.

Since 1895, the YWCA has been helping Indianapolis women and children realize their dreams through a variety of programs and activities. Today, the YWCA is a thriving organization that is taking its programming to the community, with mentoring for girls and young women as well as racial and social justice outreach initiatives. Towards this end the YWCA of Indianapolis has 3 categories to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of women and teens in greater Indianapolis within their careers, schools and community:

  • Phyllis Wheatley Award for Racial Justice –this award is presented each year to a woman who has worked toward eliminating racism within the Indiana community.
  • Young Women of Promise – This award is given to a young woman who makes contributions to the Indianapolis community through volunteer work, service leadership, mentoring or as a role model for young adults.
  • Professional Woman Awards – These awards are given to women that have made significant achievements within their careers, and who serve as role models for women of all ages.

Both finalists and winners were honored at the 29th Annual Salute to Women of Achievement event.

Let’s talk about problem solving…

We frequently get requests from clients that require some problem solving on our part.  Sometimes clients know what the end product must do or look like, but aren’t quite sure how to get there. That’s when we gather our team and hash out possible solutions.

Miles Printing knows how to ask the right questions, determine how the end-product will function best, and find the best ink, substrate and finishing options such as bindings, die cutting, or hand-finishing.

Sometimes it takes a willingness to try something new from a different perspective – to get to the answer a client needs. Of course, our experience with printing everything from die-cut banners to shelf decals, POP displays to bumper stickers and window clings, is a great reference as well.

If you have an idea for a printing project, but need a little extra help getting the best solution for your budget and your imagination, the Miles Printing team is your best ally.

And don’t hesitate to call us even if your project is just bits and pieces of ideas. That’s the best time to get the creative juices flowing and determine the best way to forge ahead!

When you think about summer, you may think about barbecues, swimming pools, and exposure to the UV rays of the sun. But there’s another type of UV to consider that’s a bit more business-oriented:  UV ink.

Miles UV ink printer gets printing jobs done in record time.

Miles prints with 100% UV ink, which gives us the capability of doing some pretty creative things. UV coatings deliver more high gloss finish than traditional inks, the results can be dramatic – especially when they are coupled with flat inks and coatings.

UV inks are also apt to be brighter than traditional ink, because they don’t require a traditional drying process, which fades color as it slowly dries and gets absorbed into the paper stock. UV ink dries almost immediately, so it will never smear.

Another plus? UV inks are greener and better for the environment than traditional inks. And, they can be printed on virtually any substrate – flat or shiny, vinyl, plastic, paper — even cloth, glass or metal.

Next time you consider stock and the finished look of your project, also consider the type of ink you’ll use. Think UV ink… and know that your project will get the visual attention it deserves.

Static cling decals are bright, fun, flexible – and reusable. They are also light and slim, making them very inexpensive to mail. And that makes decals a great marketing tool!

This static cling is having a little fun! Just think of the socks in your dryer. Yep, it works like that!

One of the huge benefits of the static cling decal is that it is removable and repositionable. Frequently reverse-printed so the image will be visible through window glass when they are pressed into place, Miles Printing has printed static cling decals for use on mirrors, glass, plastics, metals, and many other materials.

Our most common static cling decal products include:

  • Parking Passes
  • Program & Cause Support
  • Point of Purchase (POP) Signage
  • Product promotion
  • School and organization memberships
  • Direct Mail Marketing
  • Posters

Need a bright new way to draw attention to your organization? Consider cost-effective, reusable static cling decals from Miles Printing – your Indianapolis certified WBE & minority owned printer — and an expert in printing on static cling.

Sometimes Miles Printing gets lost in the paper printing shuffle. Probably because we’re best known for printing on plastics. We get that. After all, we do  a lot of printing on plastic and vinyl.

Miles Printing is a paper certified printer too!

But we do a tremendous amount of printing on paper, too. In fact, approx.80% of our printing business is paper printing. We are a certified PAPER printer!  Our standard and oversize sheet fed printing presses are state of the art – environmentally friendly, and use UV inks for sharp, colorful, quick-drying detail.

Next time you have a paper printing job, think of Miles Printing. We’re WBE certified, use green printing technology, and will give you a quote that makes sense for your project and your budget.

Think of Miles Printing for plastic AND paper:

  • Business Cards
  • Stationary Packages

  • Note Pads
  • Annual Reports
  • Marketing Materials
  • Posters
  • Postcards
  • much, much more!

Miles Printing is pleased to support local MBE and WBE businesses and nonprofits in our community.

We’re also proud to be certified as a WBE. As such, we will always go the extra mile in supporting minority, nonprofits, and small businesses in the Indianapolis area. Miles Printing actively supports many women-focused organizations, too, including Women & Hi Tech, Women in Business, and the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, as well as numerous nonprofit organizations devoted to supporting women’s endeavors, and social and health issues.

Miles Printing not only enjoys giving back, but we also want to set an example for others in both the printing and minority communities.  One of our goals is to help others grow a more significant foothold in the community.

Since printing is our niche, we have found many ways to help local groups with signage, flyers, pamphlets, decals, banners, graphics, vehicle wraps, and many other printed materials and services.

If you are a WBE, MBE or nonprofit organization in need of printing services, please let us know how we can be of service. We’ll be happy to work together to do all we can with and for you. We also know there are times when you are required to choose a WBE or MBE certified agency to do your printing. We’re glad to help you complete any paperwork needed in that regard as well.
