Miles POP is now Miles Printing!

Over the years, we have found that the name Miles POP (Printing on Plastics) can confuse our customers on what type of services we offer. We are certified both in printing on plastics as well as printing on paper. We wanted to rebrand ourselves to help get our name out there in the commercial printing world.

80% of our business is paper printing and 78% of that paper printing is products based in the business of health and life sciences. That’s not to say that we don’t accept a multitude of varying projects, so don’t be shy to ask. Whether you are looking for a product to be printed on plastic or paper, the place to go is Miles Printing!

I am sure you have all heard that Indianapolis will host the 2012 Super Bowl!  What you may not know is that the event is not just about 1 day and 2 teams, it is about our entire community!

When Indianapolis decided to bid for the 2012 Super Bowl, they decided to include the community into the bid process. Since being awarded to the 2012 Super Bowl, that community support has grown.

To date, the 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee has established the following Community Initiatives:

Miles Printing is pleased to support local MBE and WBE businesses and nonprofits in our community.

We’re also proud to be certified as a WBE. As such, we will always go the extra mile in supporting minority, nonprofits, and small businesses in the Indianapolis area. Miles Printing actively supports many women-focused organizations, too, including Women & Hi Tech, Women in Business, and the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, as well as numerous nonprofit organizations devoted to supporting women’s endeavors, and social and health issues.

Miles Printing not only enjoys giving back, but we also want to set an example for others in both the printing and minority communities.  One of our goals is to help others grow a more significant foothold in the community.

Since printing is our niche, we have found many ways to help local groups with signage, flyers, pamphlets, decals, banners, graphics, vehicle wraps, and many other printed materials and services.

If you are a WBE, MBE or nonprofit organization in need of printing services, please let us know how we can be of service. We’ll be happy to work together to do all we can with and for you. We also know there are times when you are required to choose a WBE or MBE certified agency to do your printing. We’re glad to help you complete any paperwork needed in that regard as well.

You’ve no doubt run across information about utilizing “5S” methodology to make your business run more efficiently and systematically. It’s a process that Miles Printing, a certified minority owned commercial printer, has put into place. We take it seriously – and so does our staff.

The “5S” process comes from Japan. It is a work process that describes how items are stored and how business order and peak efficiency can be maintained using a simple philosophy. The 5S process builds a clear understanding among employees of how work should be done. It also instills ownership of the process in each employee.

The five “S’s” refer to a list of five Japanese words:

  • Seiri – sorting
  • Seiton – ordering
  • Seiso – systematic cleaning
  • seiketsu – standardization
  • shitsuke – safety

"Before" and "After" using 5S organization techniques.

Miles Printing embraces 5S methodology for our printing processes and use the system in all work spaces, allowing our employees to work at peak efficiency. We even apply the 5S system to such things as ink storage for our DI presses, keeping our inks in stock and carefully organized.

By using the 5S method, Miles Printing provides our clients with efficient, top-notch service and finished pieces. Which means you can depend on us to have better, smarter, quality control for our clients.

The Office of the Mayor’s Minority Business Development Division has completed its review of Miles Printing and we are proud to be CITY-CERTIFIED as a Woman-owned Business Enterprise (WBE) through March, 2014. Being city-certified is actually a more intense process than state WBE certification. It takes an additional review and more paperwork, in addition to a visit by the city.

Miles Printing went the extra mile in getting an Indianapolis WBE certification because we are so heavily involved with supporting local women’s nonprofit causes and women-owned businesses in Indianapolis. We not only want to give back, but we also want to set an example for others in the printing and minority-owned business community to do what is right in helping others grow a more significant foothold in this vital segment of our community.

WBE certifications provide leadership in many ways in our city. They encourage young women to pursue management and business ownership as well as provide potential business partnership to women-owned organizations. That’s one of the many reasons Miles Printing supports women-focused organizations including Women & Hi Tech, Women in Business, as well as numerous nonprofit organizations devoted to supporting Indianapolis-area women’s social and health issues.

Miles Printing will always go the extra mile in supporting minority businesses, nonprofits, and small businesses in the Indianapolis area.

As a WBE, or woman owned business, Miles Printing has been blogging about some of the women-centric organizations we actively support. The greater Indianapolis YWCA is just one of these. Since 1895, the YWCA has been helping Indianapolis women and children through a variety of programs and activities.

Today, the YWCA is a thriving organization that is taking its programming to the community, mentoring girls and young women as well as providing racial and social justice outreach initiatives that support the YMCA mission of “eliminating racism and empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all people.

The goal of YWCA Indianapolis is not only to raise awareness of key issues in our community, but to affect real change. Their goal is not to just “pave the way” for the future, but to help create the future. Here are just a few of the many important programs of the YWCA Indianapolis:

  • Women of Worth – Women’s empowerment
  • WhY DiverCITY – Racial and social justice
  • Week without Violence
  • Clothesline Project
  • Stand Against Racism
  • Martin Luther King Commemoration

Miles Printing is a board member of the YWCA of Greater Indianapolis, and proud of the important contributions this organization provides to our city.

As a WBE (woman-owned business entity), Miles Printing has been blogging about Indianapolis-based nonprofits, woman-owned businesses and other business associations with which we have a passion and commitment.

Besides being a member of the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, Miles Printing is also an active, involved member of the GICC, the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce.

The Indianapolis Chamber seeks to be a leader in creating a thriving business environment with growth opportunities for its members. Starting out as the Indianapolis Commercial Club when it was formed in 1890, today’s GICC has over 3,800 members, representing over 232,000 employees in central Indiana.

Our partnership with the Indianapolis Chamber provides value through connecting with the community to help advocate and educate members and even more importantly, provide an investment in our community. That’s very important to us at Miles Printing.

Miles Printing is proud, pleased and honored to support local MBE and WBE businesses in our community and we enjoy an active membership with the Chamber. Since printing is our niche, we have found many ways to support the GICC by providing signage, flyers, pamphlets, banners and other printed materials and services. as needed.

If you are a WBE, WBE or nonprofit organization and need printing services, please let us know how we can help you.

As a WBE (woman-owned business entity), Miles Printing is an involved member of the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce (GBCC), a nonprofit, volunteer business association.

With almost a century of experience creating opportunities for business success, the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce is business hub in south central Indiana. The Chamber is a partnership of almost 1,000 businesses and organizations that work together to build better business and a stronger community, by providing common ground where business and community objectives can be realized.

Miles Printing is proud, pleased and honored to support local MBE and WBE businesses in our community and relish our participation as an active member of this vibrant, growing organization. Since printing is our niche, we have found many ways to help with IBCC signage, flyers, pamphlets, banners and other printed materials and services.

If you are a WBE, MBE or nonprofit organization in need of printing services, please let us know how we can help you with your printing.

Miles Printing is proud to be a certified Woman-owned Business Enterprise (WBE) as well as a Minority-owned Business Enterprise (MBE).

We feel that having a woman in a leadership role helps to encourage young women to pursue management and business ownership in Indiana and elsewhere. With that in mind, Miles Printing supports many women-focused organizations including Women & Hi Tech, Women in Business, and the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, as well as numerous nonprofit organizations devoted to supporting women’s endeavors, and social and health issues.

We’re also proud to be certified as a MBE. As such, we will always go the extra mile in supporting minority, nonprofits, and small businesses in the Indianapolis area. We not only want to give back, but also set an example for others in both the printing and minority communities.  One of our goals is to help others grow a more significant foothold in the community.

If your organization is a WBE or a MBE, or a nonprofit, we hope you’ll let us know. We’ll be happy to work together to do all we can with and for you.

We also know there are times when you are required to choose a WBE or MBE certified agency to do your printing. We’re glad to help you complete any paperwork needed in that regard as well.

As a MBE and a WBE, Miles Printing believes in the power of community responsibility. That’s one of the many reasons we support so many women’s business and technology organizations, life science summits, and nonprofit organizations. So we also took the challenge to become environmentally responsible, agreeing to purchase 100% renewable energy by enrolling in the Indianapolis Power and Light “Green Power Option” with our partner, HardingPoorman Group as few years ago.

Printers use a lot of power and a lot of paper. So Miles Printing now purchases all our power from environmentally friendly and renewable sources – like wind facilities — a natural source of energy and the fastest growing source of electricity in America.

When we say Miles Printing is green, we truly mean it. We also recycle our inks and buy recycled paper. Even our office staff recycles paper, plastics and trash. At Miles Printing, we’re pleased to do our part to decrease our dependence on non-renewable energy sources – and pass that environmental savings along to our customers.

By committing to purchasing renewable energy only, Miles Printing is reducing greenhouse gas emissions as well as our carbon footprint. We think being green is an important part of who we are in the community.
